Xbox One owners are reporting that their consoles are freezing or blacking out shortly after starting up. Microsoft has released a statement saying that they are aware of the issue and are working on a fix. Xbox One owners can try the following tips to fix their console:

  1. Restart your Xbox One: This is probably the most common solution for fixing an Xbox One that is freezing or blacking out. If your console is frozen, restart it by pressing the power button and then selecting “Restart” from the menu that appears. If your console is blacking out, restart it by pressing the power button and then selecting “Restart System” from the menu that appears.
  2. Check your power supply: If your Xbox One is freezing or blacking out, make sure you have a good power supply by checking to see if you have an orange light next to the power cord outlet. If you do not have an orange light, you may need to buy a new power supply for your Xbox One.
  3. Check for updates: Make sure you are up-to-date on all of your system updates by going to Settings > System > Updates & Security > Update All . If there are any updates available, install them before trying to fix your console.
  4. Reset your console: This option is only available if you have done step 1 or 2 and your console still isn’t working properly. To reset your console, press and hold down the eject button on the front of the Xbox One while simultaneously pressing both buttons on either side of the disc drive (the blue ring around it). After doing this, select “Reset Console” from the menu that appears on screen ..
