It’s been a few weeks since I last logged into my POF account, and when I tried to do so this morning, I got this message: “Your account has been cancelled because it is inactive for more than 6 months.” I’ve been using POF for over a year now, and I’ve never had an issue with it before. I’m not sure what could have caused my account to go inactive, but I’m definitely going to try and figure out what happened. ..
Here’s what I do know: my POFaccount has disappeared! There are only two reasons why this happens: either someone reported their profile as spam and requested for it to be removed from the website, or we were unable to verify that your email address was valid. Please contact us at [email protected] so that we can help recover your account; in most cases where the email isn’t a valid one people just need to sign up again using an alternative email address instead of having both emails attached to their account.
If you have lost your password, please use the “Forgot Password” link on our login page and enter in your username or email; this will create a new temporary password for you which can be changed once logged back into the site. Do not try to reset it yourself as there are a number of security measures that we take when changing passwords, such as checking if someone is trying to crack or hack into accounts.
There’s also an option for users who feel like there are people on the site harassing them: “If someone is continually bothering you on POF—whether in messages or through chat rooms–you can block them so that they cannot contact with again unless you unblock them.”
