There are two types of images you can open in Photoshop: photos and illustrations. Photos are the traditional type of image that you see in magazines and newspapers. They are usually square, have a white background, and are typically about 1 inch wide. Illustrations, on the other hand, are more creative. They can be round or oval, have a different color background, and can be up to 8 inches wide. When you open an image in Photoshop, you have three options: choose the size of the image to be created (in pixels), choose the resolution (in pixels), or choose whether to save as a photo or an illustration. If you choose to create an image, then you will also be able to select whether to save it as a JPEG or PNG file. If you choose to create an illustration instead of a photo, then you will also be able to select whether to save it as a JPEG or PNG file. However, if you want your illustration to look like it was drawn by someone else rather than just created in Photoshop, then you will need to use another program such as Illustrator or Inkscape to do this.
