Xbox One owners may be wondering if their guitar hero games are backwards compatible. The answer is yes, but there are some caveats. The first thing to note is that not all Xbox One games are backwards compatible. This includes Guitar Hero and Rock Band games, as well as many other titles. If you own one of these older games, it’s likely that it won’t work with the new Xbox One system. However, if you own a newer game in the series – like Guitar Hero Live or Rock Band 4 – then your game should be backwards compatible. Simply insert your old disc into your Xbox One and the game will start up automatically. You can also use the Xbox One’s built-in backward compatibility feature to try out older games on newer systems. Just make sure that the game you want to play is supported by the system you’re using – for example, Guitar Hero Live is only supported on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. So far, we haven’t seen any reports of older Guitar Hero or Rock Band games not working correctly when played on an Xbox One system using this method.
