If you’re using an iPhone, there are a few things you can do to make sure your messages and attachments are properly encoded and stored in the cloud. First, make sure your phone is set up to receive MIME attachments. This is done by going to Settings and selecting Mail, Contacts, and Phone. Next, check the box next to “Show attachment as text.” Finally, enter the path to your attachment file into the “Attachment Path” field. If all of this seems like too much trouble, there’s also a built-in way to encode MIME attachments on your iPhone without having to go through any extra steps. Just open up Messages and select the “Attachments” tab. From here, you can choose either to encode or store your attachments in iCloud.
