Facebook is a popular social networking site that many people use to stay in touch with friends and family. However, if you are using Facebook on your laptop, it may be difficult to uninstall the site. Here are some tips to help you uninstall Facebook on a laptop:
- Open the Facebook app on your computer.
- Click on the three lines in the top left corner of the main screen and select “Uninstall.”
- Follow the instructions on the screen to uninstall Facebook. Once Facebook is uninstalled, you can return to your normal online activities.
First we need to find the previous version of Facebook that was installed. Go into Programs & Features by hitting start and typing “programs”
Next we need to choose Uninstall for all apps:
Then choose the version of Facebook you want to uninstall. In my case it’s the previous version I don’t want anymore, but in your case it might be a newer one:
First we need to find where this folder is on our computer! It’s usually the C:\ Users\ username \AppData\Local\Facebook directory. If you don’t know how to access AppData here are some instructions for different browsers.
Now that we have found the hidden facebook-old.exe file, Rename or Delete this file if you no longer want Facebook installed (I personally do not recommend deleting). Don’t worry about losing all your data, they keep everything stored online with their servers so just make sure you log into Facebook again next time you want to see your photos.
Now that we have removed the previous installer, it’s time to remove the actual Facebook app. It stays on your computer in a form of an exe file at c:\users\username\appdata\local\facebook-old.exe and it should be deleted as well. You can do that manually by finding it with Windows Explorer or deleting any versions of Facebook you find in AppData directories for each user account you have logged into on this laptop. As always, if you don’t know how to access AppData here are some instructions for different browsers (click them one by one):
