If you’re using Android devices, you may be familiar with the feature called “swype.” Swype is a capacitive touchscreen keyboard that allows you to type quickly and easily by moving your finger across the screen. Unfortunately, some people find swype to be a nuisance because it can take a long time to type a single letter. To help speed up your typing experience, we’ve put together a few tips on how to turn off swype on Android.
- Open the Settings app and select “Keyboard.” Under “Keyboard,” select “Swype.” Toggle the “Off” checkbox and press OK.
- Open another app and start typing; after a few minutes, your finger will no longer move across the screen while you’re typing. If you find that swype is still taking too long for you to type, try disabling autocorrect in that other app’s settings or turning off spell checking in that other app’s settings.
