If you’re like most people, you probably have two external hard drives sitting around unused. If you’re like me, you also have a PlayStation 4. And if you’re like most people, you probably don’t know how to move games from one external hard drive to another PS4. The good news is that there are a few steps you can take to help make this process easier. The bad news is that it can be a bit of a hassle. Here’s how to transfer games from one external hard drive to another PS4:

  1. Make sure your external hard drive is connected to your PlayStation 4. This means that your computer’s USB port will be available. If it isn’t, connect the drive using an USB cable and your PlayStation 4’s USB port will work fine.
  2. Copy the game files onto the new external hard drive. This means that all of the game data (files such as textures and models) will be copied over. Do this by selecting “copy” from the main menu and then selecting “to internal” on the new hard drive. You’ll need to enter a path for the new hard drive in order for this process to work correctly (for example, C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Playstation4).
  3. Launch your PlayStation 4 and play the game on its original settings. Once the game has started up, select “transfer games” from within its options menu and follow the prompts onscreen. You’ll need to enter in both your originalExternal Hard Drive path and your new External Hard Drive path (for example, C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Playstation4). Once everything has been transferred over, close your PlayStation 4 and reopen it so that all of the changes made in step 2 have taken effect!
