If you’re like most gamers, you probably love your Playstation 4 controller. But if it starts to get a little bit old or if it’s just not working right, there’s no shame in taking it apart. Here’s how to do it.

  1. Start by removing the screws that hold the controller together. There are six of them on the front and back of the unit, and two on each side. Once they’re out, gently pull the controller apart until it separates into its individual pieces.
  2. Now that the controller is broken down into its individual parts, you can start fixing whatever is wrong with it. If there are broken buttons or wires, replace them with new ones from your local hardware store. If there’s a problem with the controller itself (like a dead battery), you can fix that by replacing the entire unit. ..
