Netflix is a great way to watch TV shows and movies, but it can be tough to remove your credit card information from the service. Here are four ways to do it.

  1. Sign out of your Netflix account If you just want to watch some TV shows or movies without getting charged, you can sign out of your account and then sign back in. This will reset your account so that all of your information is fresh again.
  2. Remove your credit card information from the Netflix website If you want to remove your credit card information from the Netflix website, you’ll first need to sign in. Once you’re logged in, click on “Your Account” in the top left corner of the screen. Under “My Profile,” click on “Credit & Debit Cards.” On the next page, click on “Remove Credit Card.” You’ll then be able to enter your credit card number and expiration date, and click on “Remove.” Note that this won’t remove your account from Netflix altogether; you’ll still need to sign in with that same account name and password if you want to continue watching movies and TV shows.
  3. Remove your credit card information from Netflix’s app If you’re using the Netflix app on a mobile device, there’s a good chance that removing your credit card information is automatic. To check, open the app and tap on the three lines in the top left corner (this will open up different menus depending on which device you’re using). Under “Settings,” tap on “General.” In the “Device Information” section, under “Credit & Debit Cards,” it should say whether or not removing cards has been enabled by default (it usually is). If it hasn’t been enabled by default, tap on “Enable” and then enter your card number and expiration date. Finally, tap on “Remove Card.” Note that this won’t delete any content; all of your saved shows and movies will still be ..

On the Netflix homepage, click on “My Account” and sign in to your account. Scroll down until you see “Payment Methods” and then click on it. You should see a list of all your payment methods. Click on the “X” next to the card you wish to remove (Note: You must be signed into an account with a subscription in order to access this page) and then confirm that you want to remove your credit card information.

Your new updated list of payment methods should now appear. Now close out of Netflix and open up Chrome or another browser and try logging back in. You should not see the old payment method anymore, but will only see whatever method(s) you have added since removing your credit card. If at any point you’d like to restore your original payment method, just follow these steps again using the same procedure outlined above and choose which Card/PayPal Account (if applicable) to add.

Also note that your Netflix subscription details are also stored in the “My Account” section. So if you ever need to change your billing information, or update what payment method you want to use, then this is where you would go next!

I’m still seeing my old credit card on my account after removing it from the website. Why isn’t the payment method updating?

You can try resetting your password on netflix.com and logging back in with that, but there is a very small chance that this could cause the new payment method to be forgotten altogether. In this case, give it another few days for Netflix’s system to refresh itself and then try deleting/adding your Credit Card information again (as outlined above).

We’re sorry to hear about this. Unfortunately, we can’t delete individual payment methods from our member accounts. At this time, the best way to cancel your Netflix subscription is for you to contact us directly at 1-866-579-7113 (Monday-Friday 9am – 5pm PT). Our customer service team will be happy to assist you with canceling your account and removing any associated billing information from our records.

When I called Netflix, they had no interest in helping me remove my credit card info from their system. Instead, they told me that if I still wanted to cancel my membership then I could call the credit card company and they would need to issue me a new card. Netflix really doesn’t want you canceling your account, unfortunately (I was on the phone with them for over an hour before I finally gave up).

If there is any way that we can all get together and put enough pressure on Netflix or just remove the “card” information from our accounts, I would love to hear about it. If not then someone needs to start a class action lawsuit against Netflix ASAP! I have been making monthly payments of $10 since April 2017 and now some guy wants my money! It’s beyond disgusting how shady this company has become. The fact that they won’t help at all is even more sickening.

Do you have any advice for others looking to remove their credit card information from Netflix?

Please let us know in the comments below. I would love to hear any advice that people have on this subject and how it has worked out for them if they were ever able to resolve this issue with Netflix. If there is enough interest then we can start a list of people interested in joining a class action lawsuit against Netflix.
