If you’re like most Xbox One owners, you probably use your controller for more than just gaming. You might use it to watch TV, listen to music, or even take phone calls. But if you want to use your controller for those activities, you’ll need to remove the headphone jack. Here’s how:
- Open the Xbox One console and locate the power button on the front panel.
- Press and hold the power button until the console powers off.
- Remove the screws that hold down the front panel of the console and then remove it completely.
- Locate and remove the two screws that secure the motherboard to the bottom of the console.
- Lift up on one end of the motherboard and then pull it out from under the console.
- Locate and remove both of the audio jacks from beneath the motherboard (one is on each side).
- Reinstall everything in reverse order, making sure that all of your connections are secure before closing up your Xbox One console ..
