If you have an account with a hinge company, it’s important to know how to recover your account if it’s lost or stolen. First, contact the hinge company and ask for help. If you can’t find your account or if the company can’t help you, you may need to file a police report. If you’re not able to contact the hinge company or the police, there are a few ways to try and get your account back. You can try calling your bank and asking them to open an account for you with a new name and password; or you could try using online tools like online banking or file sharing services.
You can delete your phone number from Hinge at any time by tapping on your profile picture in the top right corner or going to Settings > Privacy, selecting “Edit” next to Phone Number, and then clicking Delete Number. Once deleted, it will not be visible again on your profile. Deleting a phone number will NOT affect any matches you’ve already made through our site and does not erase the messages that you have sent and received. Your matches will continue to see your custom tagline until one of you unmatches the other. You must also update your tagline as well!
If you don’t want to unmatch a person, but also don’t want to continue seeing that person in your matches, we offer a Do Not Disturb option. You can turn on this feature by going to Settings > Privacy and tapping on “Edit” next to Phone Number. If the Do Not Disturb feature is enabled for 24 hours (in any period of 12 consecutive hours), you will temporarily stop receiving match alerts from both that user and all other users in Hinge.
This block will automatically expire after 24 hours unless manually turned off earlier. To manually turn off Do Not Disturb, go back into Settings > Privacy and select “Turn off” next to Do Not Disturb. Note: The 24 hour window for Do Not Disturb access resets at UTC Midnight (this will be the same time zone as your phone number and the same time zone that you set in your profile).
