If you’re like most gamers, you probably use your PlayStation 4’s microphone to chat with friends and family while you play your favorite games. But if you want to use that same mic on your PC, it can be a little tricky. Here’s how to get it working:
- Make sure your PS4 and PC are both connected to the internet.
- On your PS4, go to Settings > System > Audio Output and select “PC/Mac (via USB)” from the list of output options.
- On your PC, open up the Sound settings panel and click on the “Recording devices” tab. You should see a new entry called “PlayStation 4 (USB Audio Device)” listed under “Other audio devices”. If not, click on the “Add device…” button and find the PlayStation 4 USB Audio Device in the list of devices.
- Click on the PlayStation 4 (USB Audio Device) entry and select “Use as default device” from the dropdown menu. This will allow your microphone input to be used by all games that require it, regardless of which recording device is currently selected in Sound settings on your PC. ..
