- Open the Start menu and type regedit.
- When the Regedit window opens, click on the New button.
- In the New RegEdit window, enter the following information into the text fields: Name: Disable Network Access to Windows Registry Value: 1
- Click on OK to close the Regedit window.
- To enable network access to the Windows Registry, open regedit again and enter the following information into the text fields: Name: Enable Network Access to Windows Registry Value: 0
