If you’re like most women, you probably end up using your mascara tube more than you’d like to admit. And while it’s not the worst thing in the world to just toss it in the trash when it’s done, sometimes it’s nice to know how to clean out that pesky mascara tube without having to resort to harsh chemicals. Here are four easy steps on how to clean out your mascara tube:
- Fill a sink with hot water and add a few drops of dish soap. Swish the wand around inside the tube until all of the makeup is loosened up and then pour out the water.
- Fill a small bowl with warm water and add a few drops of vinegar or lemon juice. Swish around inside the tube until all of the makeup is loosened up and then pour out the water.
- Pour some boiling water into a pot and place your mascara tube in it for about two minutes, or until all of the makeup has been melted off of it. Carefully remove the wand from the pot and run it under cold water to cool down quickly before using it again.
- If you don’t have any other options, you can try using an eyelash brush to remove any stubborn bits of mascara from inside of your tube, but be sure to rinse off that brush thoroughly afterwards! ..
