If you’re like most people, you probably think of cleaning a bottle warmer as a simple task: take off the top, pour out the contents, and put it back on the shelf. But if you’re like most people, you’re wrong. There are actually a few steps to cleaning a bottle warmer that you may not have considered. Here are three tips to help clean your Dr. Brown’s bottle warmer:
- Remove all of the screws that hold the top to the bottom of the warmer. This will allow you to remove the top for cleaning.
- Pour some warm water into a bowl and add soap. Add enough soap so that it covers all of the screws and is well mixed, but not so much that it becomes too thick or clumpy. Pour enough water so that it fills up half of the bowl, then turn on the heat and wait until it starts bubbling (about 10 minutes). Pour another cup of warm water into the bowl and add more soap if needed (the water should start bubbling after about 5 minutes). Place one screwdriver end down in each hole in the bottom of the bowl and use your other hand to twist them clockwise until they come out clean (you can do this in two batches if needed). If there are any chunks or lumps in either of these solutions, place them in a glass jar or other container and let them air-dry before using them again.
- Put everything back together and enjoy your new cleaner!
