The first step in cleaning an ignition coil is to remove the spark plugs. Remove the plugs using a plunger or a vacuum cleaner. Be sure to clean all of the areas that were touched by the plugs. Next, remove any build-up on the coils by using a wire brush or a vacuum cleaner with low suction. Be sure to clean all of the areas that were touched by the brush or vacuum cleaner. Finally, use a mild soap and water to clean all of the surfaces of the coil. Be sure to dry everything before putting it back in place.
