If you have a wig, it’s important to keep it clean and free of hair build-up. Here are four easy ways to clean your wig:
- Use a wig shampoo. This type of shampoo is designed specifically for wigs and will remove any build-up or residue from the wig. Simply wet the wig and apply the shampoo, massaging it into the scalp and hair follicles. Leave the wig in the shower for several minutes, then rinse off thoroughly.
- Use a mild soap and water mixture. Wet your wig slightly and use a mild soap to lather up. Squeeze out any excess water, then rinse off with cool water. Don’t use hot water or harsh chemicals, as this could damage your wig’s fibers.
- Use a blow-dryer on low heat setting. Place your wet wig on a flat surface, then turn on the blow-dryer and wait until it reaches room temperature before removing it from the heat source. Gently shake out any excess water before placing it back on your head.
- Use an oven mitt to hold onto the base of your wig while you preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). Place your wet wig inside of an oven mitt–be sure not to burn yourself! Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from heat and let cool before wearing again ..
