1. Remove the mouse wheel from its housing by unscrewing it.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the mouse wheel.
  3. Remove the screws that hold the wheel in place on the mouse body.
  4. Lift off the wheel and discard it.
  5. Clean the inside of the wheel with a mild soap and water solution, then dry it off completely.
