Xbox 360 controllers can be changed to Player 1 by following these simple steps:

  1. Open the Xbox 360 controller and remove the battery cover.
  2. Locate the two screws that hold the controller together and remove them.
  3. Lift up the top of the controller and disconnect the cable from the motherboard.
  4. Unplug all of the cables from the controller, being careful not to lose any of them.
